With every breath I feel death lurching a little closer
And I know that I'll keep burning my life away
These weren't my intentions
This all didn't turn out like I planned
We must learn
Yes we must teach ourselves how to embrace
What it is to suffer
From darkness you will garner where the light resides
I crawl through the bayou
I spasmodically writhe like a vermin through each realm
Seeking, searching
Soothsaying
I burrow below
For a peace of mind
For a piece that's mine
I tore it from the whole
I'm entitled to it all
Its fucking mine, I took it, its my own
When I die you'll all fight over to who it belongs
Dance on the knives
Till your mind takes flight
Dance on the knives
Till the forms arise
Caught in the eye
of a hurricane mind
with a hand shakes red and a face shakes white
And you think that its over
That its all alright
Then you gaze inside
And your I divides
You must burn
To be reborn
Dance on the knives till your mind takes flight
Thinker, dance on the knives till the shapes define
And you'll think that its over, dawn of the darkest night
Then you'll see that you're death there's no end in sight
With every breath I feel death lurching a little closer
And I know that I'll keep burning my life away
These weren't my intentions
This all didn't turn out like I planned
When you feel you can't go on, there lies the door
Enter
It lies ahead, waiting for you
Enter
The door
We must learn
Yes we must teach ourselves how to embrace
What it is to suffer
Inside you keep the answers hidden
Pushed down, deep into the spirals of the coil you have to venture
In the darkness there you'll hear laughter echo
Ashes fill your mouth, that bitter taste wisdom
You who held it all in the palm of your hand
You who held it all and yet grasped none of it
Dance on the knives till the flame ignites
You'll think that its closed, you've survived to return to the light
Shudder when you realise you're wrong
Im late to the party on this one, but I just watched the video of KB talking about Road to the Sphynx and I had to come on here and buy your album. Ive been hooked since I heard Numbers the first time, I want to support you guys and your freedom to create. Keep it up, I hope we get more Numbers!!!! Colt Anderson
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
