It comes to me in murmurs
I feel it drawing close
This is the answer I've been waiting and waiting to know
It trickles through my fingers
It burrows into my soul
There is a question that has guided the path I chose
All you've sacrificed, in solemn service spent
To purpose to your time, to try to feel content
You've wandered from your path, in your blind transfixion
You've lost yourself to the one within
I'm selling my soul for the truth
I'm scouring the texts for the clues
I'm speaking in tongues, reading runes
I'm bequeathing these words to you
It comes to me in murmurs
I feel it past the fold
I have an inkling that what I seek I've always known
It comes to me from an ancient future
In becoming aware I lost the infinite
So if life began as a disjointed speck
Then so shall it end in the wholeness of death
In eternal death I return to the infinite
The fear that we all feel
Each of us must face
The unspeakable must be spoken
In accepting what awaits you shall break free of
the chains, that bind your spirit to this place
Its looming on our minds, behind each of our masks
Consuming those of us who will not accept the farce
Unspoken, unwritten and forced out of our thoughts
Waking from its slumber, its claws clinch you as it roars
I am death, I am your fate
We are bound throughout the eons
You cannot escape from me
I drag the threads of all creation
Into my spool as I weave new life
All you've sacrificed, the solemn service spent
To purpose in your life, to make you feel content
You've wandered from path, in your blind transfixion
You've lost yourself to the one within
You've taken over my life
With all that you have promised
There must be some truth, some truth to your words
I can't stand the thought that
There's nothing more than
This search that I am on for something more
Im late to the party on this one, but I just watched the video of KB talking about Road to the Sphynx and I had to come on here and buy your album. Ive been hooked since I heard Numbers the first time, I want to support you guys and your freedom to create. Keep it up, I hope we get more Numbers!!!! Colt Anderson
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
